Zutec’s Part L solution recognised for transforming the mandatory photographic evidence process required by housebuilders

London – 10th November 2023: Zutec, a leading provider of cloud-based construction management software, is thrilled to announce that it has won the Innovation of the Year 2023 category at the Construction Computing Awards, for its Part L Photographic Evidence solution.

In its seventeenth year, The Construction Computing Awards, also known as ‘The Hammers’, recognise, showcase and reward the technology, tools, and solutions used for effective design, construction, maintenance and modification of commercial buildings, residential and social housing, and civil engineering projects of all sizes.

Judged by a panel, Zutec’s solution for Part L Photographic evidence won Innovation of the Year for transforming the way housebuilders capture, store, share and manage vast amounts of information to ensure compliance with the recently updated Part L standard of Building Regulation 40.

Photographic evidence is now a mandatory requirement of the Part L standard to demonstrate that work and materials used in new homes comply with energy efficiency and sustainability targets. With a defined template, the Zutec cloud and field app enables the right photos to be taken at the right time throughout the construction phase of new homes. It then allows easy mark up, geolocation, storage, progress tracking and sharing of data with SAP Assessors for approval and signature, in order for the Buildings Regulations England Part L (BREL) report to be signed off for each plot completion.

Spec’d out alongside industry experts and aligned with the Part L Building Regulations framework, Zutec’s solution brings building information together in one place and removes the complexity of gathering evidence and submitting for approval to speed up and streamline the processes.

Gustave Geisendorf, Group CEO of the BuildData Group, holding company for Zutec, said: “Winning this innovation award is huge recognition for the team that developed, launched and took to market our Part L Photographic Evidence solution. Over the last year, Zutec has been chosen for Part L by 25% of tier-one housebuilders in the UK, who are seeing the real benefits of the platform. Our Part L solution is one of the solutions in our Quality Management suite which we believe is one of the best in the market. Besides driving consistency and standardisation across their business to meet compliance, many of our customers are now digitising more quality management processes with us to deliver better-built homes.

“As a New Homes Quality Board (NHQB) Accredited Supplier, we work closely with housebuilders to help them digitise processes, manage information, and build to the safest and highest standards. We would like to thank Construction Computing and the judging panel for seeing the true value in a solution like this, and acknowledging the innovation that has gone into making it market-leading.”
