Zutec are delighted to sponsor BIM4Heritage Annual Conference: Learning from the Past to Preserve the Future that is going to take place 27th-28th of June in Middlesex University in London.
The tragic events that happened at Notre-Dame Cathedral earlier this year was a shock to the whole world. Naturally the following questions have arisen: Why did this happen? How could it occur? Could stakeholders have done more to prevent it?
The BIM4Heritage Conference will focus on analysing the issue of digital asset management of heritage structures and through what we can learn from this historical tragedy, what else might be done to help prevent it happening again. Digital technologies such as recording, documentation and Building Information Modelling (BIM) not only gather important information on the fabric, components and spaces that make up a heritage structure, but also can act as a crisis management tool to support urgent interventions or reconstructing of such iconic monuments.
The Conference will host a range of expert speakers and researchers to explore these themes and to showcase successful case studies, in order to learn from the past to preserve the future.
Our Vice President of Solution Sales, Daniel Da Silva will be presenting on June 27th at 3:40pm in at the event.
BIM4Heritage is a special interest group established within the BIM4Communities to champion BIM within the Historic Environment. The purpose of the BIM4Heritage Group is to promote the learning, awareness and understanding of BIM within the conservation and heritage sector and organisations, and industry professional. The goal is to provide an opportunity to share knowledge, best practices and lessons learnt on BIM applied to historic structures, discuss the issues concerning the adoptions of BIM, and to provide a leadership in establishing how BIM can be used for heritage conservation, repair and maintenance processes.
