Lend Lease, as a member of the Exemplar Health Consortium, is currently constructing the Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital under a PPP contract. The hospital will revolutionize healthcare on the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane, Australia and be built in 2 stages with 450 and 738 beds available in 2016 and 2021 respectively.
When complete, the Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital will offer emergency, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, renal and outpatient services as well as a comprehensive cancer centre and specialist medical and surgical services such as neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, maxillofacial surgery, a major trauma service and pediatrics.
The Task Management tool was used as the main Quality Assurance collaboration platform for the project. Lend Lease used this to capture all tasks such as snags, defects, observations, incomplete works, outstanding works and clean up notices and raise them against the responsible subcontractors. The Client Representatives, Lend Lease and all subcontractors use this tool to collaborate and resolve all issues captured onsite. The Task Management tool also provided detailed insights and analytics through the embedded and interactive dash-boarding on the Zutec Platform.
Lend Lease used the Zutec BIM Integration tool to display the entire BIM model in the web browser and electronically tag all the asset information to the model. The model could then be accessed by the all the parties involved on the project to provide valuable information in 3D format.
As with any multi million dollar development, project handover is a key component in completion and the Zutec Digital O&M capturing platform was used as the collaboration tool for all subcontractors to upload all of the required handover information, which is essential for a smooth handover and successful running of the building post-handover. All information uploaded was brought through a workflow and validated by the various certifiers. The Zutec Digital O&M tool provided real times reports on the handover documentation progress which enabled Lend Lease to effectively track and capture all the required documentation in time for handover.
