Empire, offers 484 apartments across 62 storeys, in a central-city address. The building includes three office/apartment “pods”, and benefits from 87 car parks, eight motorbike and 158 bicycle spaces over 10 Level Podium, including one level basement and ground floor – serviced by two car lifts. Residents have access to recreation facilities, including a gym, yoga room, sauna, pool and deck area; plus communal lounge and dining rooms. 

At street-level there are two retail tenancies, plus a restaurant on the ground-floor mezzanine. The building’s façade showcases a complex design, with a mixture of flat precast and multi-directional vertical fins. 

The Probuild Construction System was successfully applied to this project, enabling an accelerated core completion date - along with reduced apartment fit-out sequence - and delivery of the structure 69 calendar days ahead of contract program. These accomplishments, along with improved quality management with significantly reduced client defects, meant apartments were handed over to the client early and a 6-Star energy rating was achieved. 

Zutec was involved in the consultation and development of a QA/QC Inspection solution to suit the needs of the project. Bespoke electronic forms were designed to enable Probuild to complete their QA checklists, utilising the Zutec Snagging & Defect Management mobile application tool. All Trades were able to electronically update status their relevant site activities which together with the Probuild checklists provided the relevant data to feed into their electronic Room Completion Wall Chart Report in real time. 

The project also managed the collection and management of all issues throughout the construction phase with Zutec Snagging & Defect Management application.
